Terms of Use — Public Beta

Beta terms, in plain language.

Effective July 2026. Commercial pilots and design partnerships are governed by a separately signed agreement that supersedes these terms. Contact: andre@portmem.com.

The service

PortMem is in public beta. The console and API let you ingest documents, run retrieval, and review AI-written reports against those documents. Beta means the service may change, and availability is not guaranteed.

Decision support, not advice

PortMem produces verification verdicts as decision support with a human sign-off step by design. Verdicts are not legal, accounting, investment, or compliance advice, and a supported verdict is not a guarantee that a claim is true. The delivery gate exists precisely because a human reviews and signs off on flagged items; that review is part of the product's intended use.

Your content

You retain all rights to documents and reports you upload. You are responsible for having the right to process them. We use your content to provide the service, not to train models. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy and Trust & Security pages.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break tenant isolation, probe other customers' data, resell the beta, or use the service for unlawful purposes. We may suspend accounts that do.

Liability

The beta is provided "as is," without warranties, and our aggregate liability in connection with the beta is limited to the amount you paid to use it (for the free beta, zero). Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms will grow up

These beta terms are deliberately short. Pilot and design-partner agreements include the commercial commitments a compliance buyer expects — service levels, data-processing terms, and liability provisions — in a counsel-reviewed form.
